Erinn Nakahara, MA, LPC, NCC
My work as a therapist has included supporting people at all stages of life development. For over 15 years, I have been fortunate to gain a variety of experience as a therapist in community mental health organizations, medical systems, and private practice.
I take a psychodynamic approach to therapy. That means I use a variety of approaches, based on your needs as a client. My work is influenced by my Bowen Family Systems training, which helps us gain insight into your current functioning based on generational patterns in your family. I also rely on existential-humanistic theory, which helps us understand the deeper conflicts in many of your everyday challenges.
Our sessions are for your benefit, and my goal is to help you feel open and comfortable in order to get the most you can from therapy. Therapy with me will feel like in depth conversations where you can identify motivation, gain new perspectives and work on personal growth and change.
I attended Villanova University for my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and completed my Masters Degree in Counseling at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.
